For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven…
a time to plant and a time to harvest.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2b
With the first rainy and growing season failing to produce due to the lack of rain, the situation became dire and desperate for many as food was scarce. Prices tend to increase when there are such drastic shortages. This is especially true in Northern Uganda near Odek and Pader where the children and families suffering from Nodding Syndrome live.
Tangible support in every season
It is our desire to do what we can to come alongside and see where and how there can be some relief. To support with tangible resources, and to bring the deep love of Jesus in such a life changing way. Sometimes you hear this phrase here: “I don’t have much words”. The tangible can speak the love language of God. Just to know that someone sees and cares. For someone to give the hug or hand that may be missing in the midst of the battle, can communicate the love of God in a way that many words will not say.
Hope is growing
Uganda is now in the midst of the second rainy and growing season. Praise God there is sufficient rain, and crops look to be doing well. This can help bring relief to the desperate situation, and prepare the families for the next dry season. Ecclesiastes chapter three talks about the different seasons in life, a time for every activity under heaven. There is a time to plant and a time to harvest.
Will you join us in praying for this time and season for those suffering from Nodding Syndrome? That there will be a bountiful harvest of food and souls for the Kingdom.
