First Fruits

Honor the Lord with your wealth

 and with the first fruits of all your produce;

Proverbs 3:9

By giving God the first fruits, Israel acknowledged that all good things come from God, and that everything belongs to God. Giving the first fruits was also a way of expressing trust in God’s provision. Just as He provided the first fruits, so He would provide the rest of the crops and livestock that were needed.

Lord, let us be the first fruits

Journey International desires to be the first fruits in offering of our staff and resources. Our team desires to put Jesus first in who we are, and all that we do. Taking whatever we have been gifted from the Lord, and given by our supporters, to reach the lost and some of the most vulnerable. To be first fruits to those suffering from Nodding Syndrome, and to their families. To reach vulnerable children, the elderly, the disabled, the marginalized, and those in need of a church family/home (Salvation Sheds)

Baby calf: The first born of a milk cow donated by Journey International to the Lira Babies Home. They are beyond grateful for your giving and prayers!

The rest of the harvest will soon follow

By giving first fruits, the sacrifice of giving something before the rest of the harvest was ready was acknowledged. It was a step of obedience and faith. By the giving of the first, it was also recognized that the rest of the harvest would soon follow. Jesus was the First Fruit of the resurrection from the grave, where we are promised to follow…

Maize and Soya beans: Crops being grown on the Journey International Property in Odek (Nodding Syndrome Community) This will be the first fruits of crops grown by Journey International and will be donated to the local churches and community. Rain is still needed to fill out the husk and pods. We can use your prayers.

Thank you to our faithful supporters for providing first fruits. May the Lord repay you in ways we cannot, may the rest of the harvest follow you…
