Big goals with a big response
God has given us a big vision, and shown us the fruits of impactful goals. As we headed into our first fundraising campaign we knew one thing for sure, God had given us the passion to help those most vulnerable in Northern Uganda, no matter what. We would be there to show them they are seen and loved by Him. As we began the fundraiser we knew that whatever the Lord provided would be enough. However, we stood firm in our confidence that God would provide for the big vision He had given us. We knew that setting a goal of $80,000 in our first year would not be easy. However we also knew that God was more than capable to see it through. We are so humbled to announce that with your help, we have surpassed this goal!
Many of you have now seen the Journey
Throughout our Journey of serving in Uganda over the years, we have found it difficult to really explain to those at home the desperate situations that many face in Northern Uganda. Sometimes there are no words or stories that can do the reality the justice it deserves. When preparing for this campaign, we really yearned to show everyone the work God was doing in Northern Uganda, not just tell. A huge blessing came into our lives when our good friends at Bold Ventures introduced us to the amazing videographer, Daniel Odeke. Through his beautiful work, passion for showing the story in its truest form, and dedication to the communities around him, we were able to bring our vision to all of you. We want to extend our gratitude to Daniel for bringing the stories of those we serve to life. (You can view the videos on the fundraising page or on our YouTube channel)
Putting your donations to work
And now it begins. As we head back to Uganda for a season, we are anxious to put your generous giving into action. At this time we have three Salvation Sheds underway, and we will begin setting roots for the next round to begin construction. The families suffering from Nodding Syndrome will continue to receive our assistance, while we establish new families to take under our organization. There will be focused efforts to assist the Stonebreakers in any way possible, continually reminding them that they are seen and loved. We will build up our team on the ground in Lira, and encourage the young generation that makes Journey International possible every single day. We will always leave room in this ministry for God to show us those who may fall between the cracks. Those who are desperate for help, but will never fit nicely inside a designated program.
