When we think of Salvation Sheds, we cannot help but to think of the Children. While most kids in Northern Uganda who are able to walk are roaming free and fending for themselves, the church gives them a place to learn and grow and meet Jesus. In the company of older believers, they have a church family and those who will mentor and guide them. They get adults that will disciple them in the word and prayer.
The Best Investment
We cannot think of a better investment into the lives of vulnerable children than the local church—whether it is under a mango tree, a tarp, tent, brick building or salvation shed! Simply having a place to call their church home is such an important part of belonging and identity as a child of God. We know the church is not the structure, but it is people of all ages, colors, cultures, vocations, giftings, and passions. There is no better way to learn this but from a child.
Jesus overheard them and said, “I want little children to come to me, so never interfere with them when they want to come, for heaven’s kingdom realm is composed of beloved ones like these! Listen to this truth: No one will enter the kingdom realm of heaven unless he becomes like one of these!”
Matthew 19:14 (TPT)
What Is It Going To Be?
There is something about seeing a church building erected that brings hope to a community. To a child it is the wonderment of, “What it is going to be? What will it be like?” In time, it becomes a place of singing praises, worshipping, dancing, teaching, friends, and family.
The Word of God says that we should become like little children if we want to see the Kingdom of heaven. Let’s provide a place where there is the open invitation for each and every one to “Come as you are,” experiencing the joy, peace, and love of Jesus.
